Dutchies in the Minor League playoffs

The Huntsville Stars got their revenge for the loss of the previous day. Yesterday they beat the Chattanooga Lookouts 9-0. Both Shawn Zarraga and Hainley Statia didn’t play.

A Full Season
The Hagerstown Suns beat the Greensboro Grasshoppers 6-2 and advanced to the South Atlantic League championship series. Spencer Kieboom drove in two runs for Hagerstown, one on a single and one on a sac fly. Spencer went 1 for 4. Behind the plate he allowed one stolen base.Here is a nice article on Spencer’s contribution to this game.

A Short Season
Darren Seferina’s season will last a bit longer. Darren got one basehit out of four at bats and he scored the game tying run for the State College Spikes. He was also retired once with a strikeout. The Spikes eventually beat the Renegades 2-1 and will advance to the championship series of the New York – Penn League.

Rookie
Three runs in the first inning were too much to overcome for the Danville Braves. Despite scoring two runs, the stayed on the wrong side of the score  as the Johnson City Cardinals beat them 4-2 and clinched the Appalachian League pennant. Ozhaino Albies went 1 for 4 and struck out once. He committed his only error of this series but it didn’t have any further consequences.
