German native Max Kepler have been called up by the Minnesota Twins. Within a week after the Minor League season had started, the contract of the 23-year old was acquired from the Rochester RedWings because of a hamstring injury of center fielder. Danny Santana.
Max is more versatile than Santana because he can also play first base.
Last year Max already had a cup of tea in the Bigs when the Twins called him at the end of the season. Max appeared in three games and had seven at bats in which he got one basehit (.143).
This spring, Max had a slow start as well when he had thiry at bats in fifteen games, in which he collected seven hits, drove in two and struck out six times.
So far with the Rochester RedWings, Max played two games, but his numbers were not really impressive yet. In six at bats he got one hit with two runs batted in.
Max was born in Berlin and spent time with the baseball academy in Regensburg. As a result he played with the Buchbinder Legionäre before the Twins signed him in 2009.
