Dutch infielder Ruar Verkerk will join Curacao Neptunus instantly after his immediate release by the Minnesota Twins organization.
Verkerk played his first game in the Twins organization on June 21, 2014. Since then he played 47 games at the GCL level.

In 2014 Ruar played 21 games at third base in which he committed five errors (.891). In the next season he played 20 games at third base in which he committed five errors as well (.886). Next to the low (kind of) fielding percentage at GCL level, he struggled at the plate as well. In the two seasons in the Twins organization, he collected a total of 23 hits in 134 at bats (.172). Eventually this cost him his roster spot.
By joining Curacao Neptunus, Verkerk will be reunited with his old team mates. In 2013 Verkerk played three games with Neptunus in the Hoofdklasse. In those two games he got a batting average of .222.
In 2012 Ruar also participated in the Power Showcase in which he hit two homeruns with a wood bat and one with an aluminum bat.
