In the blog post of last week you could read that afater the city of Hartford booted the construction company, the stadium wasn’t insured anymore. But after all the negative news about the ongoing construction of the home of the Hartford YardGoats, there is some positive news to tell.
After some pressure by the city of Hartford, the city’s insurer, Travelers, was prepared to take the risk of insuring the ballpark. This move is based on an existing plan that is extended now.
The ballpark is now insured for an estimated $52 million, which is still significantly lower than the $62 million that is spent on the construction so far.
Still it is not clear when the construction will continue and when the future home of the YardGoats will open its doors. But it is very likely that the YardGoats will play the remaining home games on the road this season.
