The current Dutch champion, Curacao Neptunus, has announced in a press release that they will not extend the contract of manager Evert-Jan ‘t Hoen.
In the previous four years, Evert-Jan ‘t Hoen guided Curacao Neptunus to three Dutch titles and a win in the European Cup.
Still the club thinks that ‘t Hoen did not get most out of the lineup. That is why the club has decided to look for a new manager.
Evert-Jan ‘t Hoen had a pretty successful career as a baseball player. He was part of the Dutch team in the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and Sydney. In 1996 he signed a contract with the Anaheim Angels that eventually brought him to AAA Salt Lake.
In 2001 he returned to the Netherlands where he played for Neptunus until 2009.
Before Van’t Hoen was appointed as head coach of Curacao Neptunus, he was technical
coordinator of the Rotteram Unicorns baseball academy. In his role he managed several teams of that academy and the KNBSB.
