Loek van Mil to play in ABL again

The Adelaide Bite announced its roster for the new Australian Baseball League season, that will start tomorrow.

One of the familiar faces is Loek van Mil. The Dutch right handed pitcher joined the Bite in the course of the 2015/2016 season.

Van Mil has quite some experience under his belt. Before he returned to the Netherlands in 2015, he had never played in the Dutch hoofdklasse. In 2006 Van Mil made his first steps in professional baseball with the Gulf Coast League Twins. 2007 he played in the advanced rookie league Appalachian League with the Elizabethton Twins.
Through the years he climbed up through A Short Season, A Full Season, A Advanced, AA to AAA, though he split several seasons between AA and AAA. After the 2013 season he moved to Japan where he played for the Rakuten Golden Eagles.
In 2015 he played three games with the Rochester RedWings before he was released and returned to the Netherlands where he joined Neptunus from Rotterdam. After the regular season he joined the Adelaide Bite as a preparation for another year in Rochester.
In the minor leagues Van Mil recorded 12 wins and 27 losses with a 3.48 ERA. With the Rakuten Golden Eagles he appeared in seven games, lost one and posted an ERA of 4.15.

In his first season with the Adelaide Bite, Van Mil appeared in ten games in which he posted three saves, a 3-2 record and a 3.97 ERA.

The Adelaide Bite will start the season on Friday in Sydney vs the Blue Sox.
