Yesterday the Texas Rangers announced that they added the younger brother of Jurickson Profar to their Spring Training roster.
Juremi Profar, 21-year old brother of Jurickson played at A-Advanced last season.
With the now defunct High Desert Mavericks, Juremi won the Caliornia League pennant. Weird fact is that after the championship the team moved to the Carolina League where the Rangers have put their A-Advanced team now.
Just like his older brother, Juremi is a utility man. He has played all infield positions but shortstop. Juremi posted a ..944 fielding percentage at third base, .923 at second base and .991 at first base. With the Mavericks, Juremi hit a decent .300, even though it must be said that the California League is known to be a hitters league.
Juremi broke into professional baseball in 2013 when he played with the DSL Rangers. Ever since he has been moved all over the minors as he played several games at AAA level in 2014 as well. The only level that he did not play at so far is AA. But perhaps we can see him with the Frisco Rough Riders in the upcoming season.
It would be nice if the Profar brothers could be on the Rangers lineup at the same time later this spring training.
