Recently you could read here that Aruban player Wally Vrolijk had signed with a German club. Today the Stuttgart Reds announced that they signed utility player Marvin Brown.
Marvin Brown is a young utility player who can play outfield and can pitch.
This stint with the Stuttgart Reds isn’t his first foreign adventure as he pitched in Italy in 2016 for BC Castenaso of the Serie A (second division).
Next to play with the Bundesliga team, Brown will help the club as a coach for several teams.
Unfortunately, there is not much information to be found about Marvin. Marvin pitched for team Curacao during the 2015 World Port tournament. In a 19-1 loss vs team Kingdom of the Netherlands, he pitched 2/3 of an inning but could not get out of the inning as he faced six more men, as he did not strike out anyone, walked two and allowed four hits.
In a game vs Taiwan during the same tournament, Marvin fared a lot better as he lasted five innings plus one man and fanned one, walked five and allowed five hits.
Mervin also played for the Aruba team of San Nicolas during the 2010 and 2011 senior league World Series that reached the final of both events and won in 2010 by beating Maine 8-1 but fell to Rose Capital East in 2011.
