Rick van den Hurk donates for charity

In a tweet and on his own website, Rick van den Hurk announced that he will have a weekly auction, to raise money for the Ronald McDonald Foundation.

The Dutch-born pitcher from Eindhoven will donate game-used baseball items and equipment from teams he played for.

Since his MLB debut with the Florida Marlins in 2007, he has played for the Baltimore Orioles and the Pittsburgh Pirates. After the 2012 season, Van den Hurk would join the Samsung Lions of the KBO and would win the Korean Championship twice.

After two successful seasons with the Lions, Rick crossed the Japanese Sea to join the Softbank Hawks. After some time at the Ni-Gun (minor league) team of the Hawks, Rick debuted in the NPB on June 14, 2015. He compiled a perfect 9-0 record, with a 2.52 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP. He struck out 120 batters in 93 innings pitched.
